Its not a maybe, there is definite and obvious activity in Christabel. Geraldine is a manifestation of evil, a vampire if you will, who gorges herself ually and spiritually on Christabel. Note the line "Behold! her bosom and half her side- / A sight to dream of, not to tell!" Originally Coleridge had pencilled in "It was dark & rough as the Sea-Wolfs hide" He removed it, but the idea was that Geraldine needed Christabel's spiritual goodness to feed off so that she might regain "her heaving s" - her physical health. You may also not Christabel's reaction the morning after being seduced: "'Sure I have sinn'd '" Coleridge had a very active imagination...
