If you know the ballad all the way through, I'd be thrilled if you could send it. Brother and I used to know it all the way through when we were little. He's coming here to NC tomorrow from England for a month. It would thrill us both to pieces if I could have it to show him. It starts:
The daylight moon looked quietly down,
Through the gathering dusk on London Town.
A smock-frocked yokel hobbled along,
From Newgate humming a country song.
Chewing a straw he stood to stare
At the proclomation posted there.
Three hundred guineas ib Turpin's head
And a hundred more for his mate Tom King.
something, something, something - and so on.
