Friends,
I am trying to gain some information on HWL, in particular the song "I heard the bells on Christmas day".
I had heard that this poem was written during the Civil War by HWL and then later put to music.
I would like to give a short speech on this at my church, but have not been able to gather any information.
Might any of you have some info on this song and how it came to be?
Anything you have would be appreciated.
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Joe Marsh
